Volunteer Interest Form | VIF

As you complete your volunteer interest form, we encourage you to think strongly about issues you want to explore through your volunteer experiences, this spells interest! We promote volunteer sustainability by matching you closely to organizations that share those same interests and who desire for volunteers to bring passion to agency work. We respond to interest forms within two (2) business days.

Let’s Get Started

We Are Illini Volunteers Preparedness Course | WAIV

This course assists university volunteers in exploring the concepts of sustainable volunteerism, cultural awareness, and volunteer etiquette before they serve. Our course lessons are developed with campus and community partners to better equip volunteers for service at sites. Volunteers who complete all lessons and pass the post-course assessment receive a certificate of completion.

Resources

  • Explore Community is a database of local and virtual organizations. You can search organizations by topic of interest. As we learn of new organizations, updates are made to keep you engaged.
  • Volunteer Illini Projects Inc. is a student-led organization at Illinois. We love and advise them! VIP has a rich history of engaging students in volunteerism with countless local nonprofits. In 1963, they got their start as a small group of dedicated tutors with a goal to mitigate the secondary education attrition rates of marginalized groups across Champaign County. Overtime they grew to 1,000+ members and branched out to take on other social issues with projects focused on companionship with persons with disabilities, senior citizens and incarcerated humans across Illinois, animal adoption and care, hunger and homelessness, blood donation, community justice, civic and voter engagement, environmental issues, arts outreach, and social empowerment. However, they have remained true to their humble beginning as community tutors.
  • OneIllinois showcases the stellar engagement of Illinois service-related registered student organizations. You are sure to find a group that is right for you to experience Involvement as the Power of I.

Calendar

The calendar displays current service opportunities (on and off campus), agency training/orientation dates, and Civic Life events and activities.

Campus departments, registered student organizations, and community agencies can submit volunteer needs at any time. However, needs should be submitted at least one week in advance of event dates. Allow us 48 hours to review and add your options. We occasionally contact organizations for clarity on their needs and will not publish information without successful follow up.
