Job Title

Illini Vote Ambassador (5-8 hours per week)

Opportunity

Illini Vote Ambassadors are student leaders (undergraduate, graduate, or professional) who assist with promoting civic engagement and voter participation among students at the University.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Event Coordination
  2. Creation of Social Media Content and Marketing Materials to promote voter engagement and civic education (Ex. Instagram, Reddit, TikTok)
  3. Community Outreach
  4. Work with students and staff in individual colleges to host and attend voter engagement events.
  5. Attend weekly one-hour Illini Vote team meetings to discuss progress, share ideas, and coordinate upcoming initiatives.

We are seeking leaders that have:

  1. Ability to work in a collaborative team setting.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Passionate about civic engagement, voting rights, and social justice issues.
  4. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  5. Familiarity with social media platforms and basic graphic design skills are a plus.
  6. Previous experience in community outreach, event planning, or related fields is preferred but not required.

Skills You Will Practice

Gain hands-on experience in event planning, social media marketing, community outreach, public speaking, presenting, project management, and team collaboration within a dynamic civic engagement initiative.
