Key Dates

2024 General Election

  • September 26: Early voting begins in Champaign County.
    • Location: Brookens Center
  • September 27: Return your completed mail-in ballot for Champaign County. There is a drop box located at the Illini Union.
  • October 8: Deadline to register to vote in Illinois using paper or mail.
  • October 20: Deadline to register to vote online (Illinois allows for same day voter registration with ID. Acceptable forms of identification.)
  • October 21- November 4: On campus early voting begins at Illini Union.
    • Monday-Friday, 11:00 am-6:00 pm
    • Saturday 10:00 am-4:00 pm
    • Sunday 1:00-4:00 pm
  • November 1: Deadline to request a mail in ballot.
    Same day registration and voting begins, ends November 5.
  • November 5: ELECTION DAY!
    • Polls are generally open from 6:00 am-7:00 pm.
    • Mail in ballots should be sent and postmarked by 7:00 pm.
